How to Register for the Farmingdale Forum

In order to post and access certain features of our Forum you must Register first!
After reading the Forum Rules and Registration Instructions below, go to the Registration Form

How to Register

Read Our Forum Rules, and agree to abide by them.

Fill out the Registration Form using a valid email address (please see the detailed "Explanation of Registration Form" below)

Receive confirmation email: Once you submit your Registration Form you will receive a "Welcome to the Forum" confirmation email (sent to the email address you specified in your registration). This email will include a code (key) that you will need to "activate" your account, and a URL where you must go.

Follow the instructions of your confirmation email to ACTIVATE your registration: The "Welcome to the Forum" confirmation that is emailed to you (soon after you submit your registration form) is a way to check that you entered a valid email address. This email will list 2 different URLs where you can Activate your account -- chose one or the other, and follow the instructions. (If you need further assistance, see a more detailed explanation on How to Activate Your Account) -- Once you get to the page where the "Acceptance of the Rules Agreement" is displayed on your screen, you will need to "check" the acceptance box at the bottom of the page, and click on the "I accept the rules" button in order to be activated.

After your account is activated we will send you a verification email. Once you reply to it and we are able to verify you, your account will be approved and you will be able to Log-in to Post and/or Chat in our Forum. Unfortunately we were forced to add this extra step in order to prevent certain users from continuing to abuse the Forum and forcing us to shut it down numerous times.

Explanation of Registration Form

In order to Register, you will be presented with the following screen:

There are 4 required fields in the Registration Form:

(1) Name: Enter the "Username" you want to use when posting in the Forum -- please note that the name you enter here will appear on all your posts! If the name you enter was already registered by another Forum user, you will be asked to enter a different name.

(2) E-mail: Enter your email address -- please note that the email address you enter here will appear on all your posts!

Be sure to enter your correct email address (check for typos!!!) because instructions on how to "activate" your registration will be sent to this email. You will not be able to post until you "activate" your account using the special "Validation key" (code) that will be emailed back to you -- so, if you type an incorrect email address you will not be able to complete your registration.

Your correct email should look something like this:

YourHandle@yourISP.com

YourHandle@yourISP.net

Ex 1: If your name is John Smith, your Internet Service Provider is AOL, and your AOL screen name (aka "handle") is JSmithXX -- your email address would be: JSmithXX@aol.com

Ex 2: If your name is John Smith, your Internet Service Provider is Optimum Online, and your username (aka "handle") is JSmith -- your email address could be: JSmith@optonline.net

PLEASE NOTE:
- There are NO SPACES in email addresses (a common mistake)
- A correct email address ends in ".com" or ".net" or ".org" etc.

(3) Password: Enter the "password" you will be using to log in the Forum -- it is recommended that you use a combination of letters and numbers to make it difficult for someone else to break into your account! The password you enter will not be displayed on your screen, so pay special attention when you type it.

(4) Retype Password: Re-enter the same "password" you typed in the previous field.

Once you submit your registration you will immediately be sent a "confirmation" email. Follow the instructions on that email to activate your account -- then you will be ready to login. To login enter the Username you registered with, and your password.

PLEASE NOTE: While we do not require anyone to use their 'real' name when registering, we do ask our users to register ONLY ONE username in our Forum.
